Tarangire National Park
Baobabs, river valleys and Tanzania's great elephant herds.

Tarangire National Park lies in Tanzania's Manyara Region and takes its name from the river that runs through it. In the dry months that river is the lifeline for wildlife across the surrounding ecosystem.
When water elsewhere disappears, thousands of animals — including some of Tanzania's largest elephant herds — move into Tarangire. The park is also known for its old baobab trees and the long-distance wildebeest and zebra movements that define the ecosystem.
